40-jarig ambtsjubileum

Afgelopen maand was ik 40 jaar in dienst bij dezelfde werkgever, mijn eerste echte ook. Klein, bescheiden gevierd, maar wel lekker verwend. Ik mocht kiezen tussen een cadeau of een geldbedrag. En om de collega's nu naar een quiltwinkel te sturen...

Last month I celebrated my 40-year anniversary with my employer. It was a small, modest celebration, but I was spoiled.  I got the chance to choose what I wanted. A suprise or an amount to spend.  Nah, to send my colleagues to a quiltshop.....

Ook van de personeelsvereniging kreeg ik nog wat pecunia, dus ik kon afgelopen maand helemaal los gaan, Ook nog wat wol gekocht voor sokken en een mooie sjaal. Hartstikke leuk is dat en dat allemaal zonder dat je je schuldig hoeft te voelen.

I also received some money from the staff association, so it was party time last month. Also bought some yarn for socks and a shawl. Great feeling to buy a lot of nice fabrics without feeling guilty.








Ook heb ik afgelopen maand aan weer een paar sokken gewerkt. Het was een bolletje, best wel duur, wat ik vorig jaar op de beurs gekocht had. Ik had er een mooi veren patroon voor gekozen. En wat blijkt dan? Het was heel erg mooi gemêleerd garen, maar zo erg, dat ik twee compleet verschillende sokken heb. Wat viel dat me tegen zeg.




I also knitted a pair of socks again. The yarn I bought on the fair in Zwolle last year. It was a very expensive one. ut I liked the colors so much. I choose a very nice feather pattern for the socks. After I finished them they look like two complete different socks, What a pitty.












En dan mijn opdracht natuurlijk,  De twee blokken van de Dear Daughter quilt. Het is wel ontzettend leuk om aan te werken hoor. En door al die nieuwe lapjes heb ik keuze genoeg om er een kleurrijk geheel van te maken.

And then ofcourse, my challenge  for this month. Two blocks of the Dear Daughter quilt. As you can see, I succeeded. It is great fun to work on them, especially, with those new fabrics. Great new colours. Thanks to elmstreetquilts.com; one-monthly-goal-october, this quilt grows.
